Do you have an urge to create a great cityscape? Drawing an easy city need not be tricky and with the right tips you can easily get the desired effect without much effort. Drawing a cityscape is all about focusing on the details that make each section special. You must start by establishing the mood. Think about how would you describe the city in words and create a mental picture first.

Start your sketch by drawing the horizon with a pencil. You can mark the horizon position with a soft pencil line and then be guided by this line. Next draw the vertical lines that would create the buildings. This way you can begin with a basic composition and go further afterwards.

You need to use exaggeration to create some balance between the two ends. Start big on the left side and get smaller as they approach the right side. Be careful in how you are placing the buildings and make sure that they aren’t skewed.

Drawing shouldn’t be a stagnant process. Experiment with the textures, get creative and make sure to play with the shades and shadows to create a realistic image. Using the pencil at this stage will give you the opportunity to correct any errors without much stress.
