How To Draw A Jellyfish

Maybe a jellyfish is your favorite animal or you just want to hone your artistic skills, either way, you’ve come to the right place! Drawing a jellyfish can be a lot of fun—all it takes is a patient hand and a few simple steps. Before you know it, you’ll be showing off your impressive scrawling skills. Ready to get started? Let’s do this!

Step one: Start With the Head

First thing’s first: you gotta sketch out the head. Use a pencil to lightly draw a curved triangle shape with a pointy end. This will be the jellyfish’s head. And don’t worry if it’s not perfect; you can always go back and refine it later on.

Step Two: Add the Stem

The most crucial part of a jellyfish is their obligatorily long ‘stem’, so don’t forget it! Here, draw a longish line extending from the back of the head. The exact thickness and length of the stem will vary depending on the type of jellyfish you want to draw. Whatever the case, keep in mind that the jellyfish should look like it’s drifting in the water!

Step Three: Draw the Lantern

While the head and stem form the jellyfish’s body, its ‘lantern’ gives it life! With a pencil, lightly draw an oval circle beneath the stem. This will represent the jellyfish’s enclosed body. From there, draw a series of curved, rather spiky lines around it to form the bell-like shape of the lantern.

Step Four: Add the Tentacles
