There’s something oddly satisfying about creating something beautiful from nothing. Drawing a shooting star is one of the most calming creating activities there is! With a few simple steps, you can quickly conjure up an amazing piece of artwork in no time.

First, take a moment to focus on your blank page. Picture the beautiful starry night sky in your mind, as if you were stargazing on a warm summer night. Then, instead of using a pencil like most artists, grab a sharpie – that’ll give your shooting star some extra oomph!

Slowly begin to draw a thick line extending out in one direction away from a central starting point, just like you were drawing a shooting star in the night sky. No line should be perfectly straight; to give your drawing more character, make sure to keep your line somewhat wobbly and curved. If you get really creative, you can even make your drawing seem to be stretching out and extending across the page as if it were a real shooting star!

Once you’ve created your shooting star, go ahead and add a few softer curves radiating out from the central point. These smaller curves will act as the shooting star’s tail, and give it a beautiful sweeping motion. Make sure to keep the curves more subtle, since the tail should be more faded away in contrast to the shooting star’s more adventurous body.
