How To Draw Gargoyle<\/b>
\nWhen it comes to creating something out of this world, drawing a gargoyle will definitely hit the spot. These mythical creatures have been around since Ancient Rome, so they mean a lot to people who love art and mythology. Drawing a gargoyle may seem intimidating, but it’s actually quite easy to do when you know the right techniques.
\nThe first step to creating a beautiful gargoyle is to sketch out the basic structure. Start with a large circle for the head and a slightly smaller circle for the body. Then add in the wings and feet using curved lines and some imagination. After you have the frame sketched out, you can move onto details. Create the eyes and mouth using small circles for the eyes and a sideways ‘S’ for the mouth. Adding in small details like horns, spikes and claws brings the gargoyle to life.
\nOnce your sketch is complete, you can fill in the details with color. Using dark hues is a good idea since it helps bring out the creature’s menacing look. Pay attention to where each element flows into the other; how the eyes are connected to the wings, or how the horns grow out of the head. Every choice you make should be purposeful and carefully considered.
\nNow that the bulk of the gargoyle’s features are complete, it’s time to add texture. Think of how light and shadows play across a rough stone surface and recreate that effect with your color palette. Utilizing different shades and tones will make the surface seem real and will make the gargoyle look like it could hop right off the page.
\nThe next step is to layer up the color. Start with the darkest hue and add lighter colors as you go. This works as a type of shading and will give the gargoyle a realistic 3-D appearance. Finally, go back over the details – like the eyes and mouth – and make sure the colors you chose are even and consistent.
\nNow that your gargoyle is complete, you can choose to add more details or play around with the contrast. The stark contrast between light and dark can emphasize the gargoyle’s striking features and will really bring it to life.
\nWhen you have the perfect looking gargoyle, you can move on to more exciting projects. Don’t be afraid to go wild and draw other mythical creatures, like dragons and unicorns. Anything is possible when you let your imagination run free.\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
