Are you an aspiring artist looking to add to your repertoire? Drawing hats can be a fun and creative way to unlock your hidden artistic powers! Whether you’re just learning to draw or looking to build up your portfolio, today’s your day to leave your mark. Here’s how to draw your way to success.

The first step is envisioning the hat you want to draw. Chances are, you’ve probably seen a few hats around – from baseball caps to porkpies, fedoras to berets – so you’ve got plenty of inspiration to draw from. Take a few moments to really visualize the hat you want to draw so that when you start sketching, you know exactly where to go.

Once you have a concept in your mind, it’s time to start sketching. Start with very light pencil strokes so that you can easily erase them if you need to. Begin by drawing the basic hat shape – be it a wide-brimmed hat or a tiny beanie – using basic shapes, like a circle or square, as a guideline. Then, add texture and details, like the buttons or buckles on a baseball cap, or the lacing on a sunhat.
