It’s always been a burning question in the minds of aspiring artists: how can I draw the ampersand sign? It might seem like a daunting task, but with a few simple steps you can quickly learn to draw it like a pro. Here’s what you need to know.

First, begin by sketching a cursive “C” on your pad or canvas. Note that it must be a very rounded “C”, not sharp and angular. This should encompass the entire bottom portion of the ampersand sign. Make sure that you make it as curvy as possible.

From there, make a smooth transition from the top of the “C” to the bottom. You want to create a smooth curve, as if you are blending two halves of the same circle together. This mimics the natural shape of the ampersand. If you’re having trouble getting it right, try tracing a few circles and then drawing the transition between them.

Next, create a loop at the top of the ampersand. This should start slightly above the right side of the “C”, and then move down the left side. This should form a loop that resembles the bottom half of a U. From there, you can then draw an S-shaped loop on the right-hand side that gradually curves back toward the top of the “C”. This will complete the ampersand sign.
