How To Draw A D20

Well, fear not! It’s actually incredibly easy to draw a D20. All you need is some paper, a pencil and a little bit of imagination. Start off by drawing a circle with your pencil; it doesn’t need to be perfect, as you can refine it later. Once you have the overall shape of your D20, start creating the indented lines that create the facets of it. It may take some time to get the perfect shape, but keep at it! Make sure you leave enough white space on the outside of the lines, so you can make the edges more concave without making the shape too small.
Next, it’s time to draw the numbers. This is simpler than it seems; all you need to do is draw a small line within the edge of the circle, creating the outline of your number. Then, draw a line to connect it to the center of the circle. Do this for all twenty numbers so that each number is represented in the same size and has a direct link to the center. The fun part is that after you’re done with drawing the structure, you can add some color! Using colored pencils or markers, start from the outer edge and gradually fill in the color. You can stick with one color, or mix it up and color in each number differently. Now your D20 is ready for some serious gaming!
Making a 3D D20

Start by connecting the outer edges of the circle until they make a solid shape. You may need to add some lines to smooth out the shape.
Once you have the flat structure of the D20, now it’s time to bring it to life! Draw small lines that rise away from the surface of the die, creating miniature hills and valleys. For each peak, you can add a little dip to the other side, just like a real D20 has. You can make these hills and valleys as deep or shallow as you want.
The next step is to add the numbers. Just like with your flat D20, use a pencil or marker to write out the numbers on the surface of the D20, making sure to mark the center of the die too. As for the colors, you can choose any colors you want, or go basic and color in each number the same color. Now you have a 3D D20 ready to impress your gaming friends!
