Collect Reference Photos: Gather relevant images to work off of. Look at as many pictures of your chosen character as possible, some taken from different angles and see the details of the character and its body movements. Also, look for the details; how does the character’s hair move, how does it stand and move, what type of clothes does it wear, any accessories it has, recognize and observe the expression of the character.
Choose Drawing Tools: Select your drawing tools. Basic materials you’ll need include a pencil, paper, eraser, and if you like, color pencils or markers. Use paper that is slightly thicker than regular paper, it will prevent your drawing from becoming smudged and blurry, if you’re using markers. Next, use a pencil to sketch lightly and define the silhouette of the character and its body language.
Start Drawing: Start putting lines to paper and gradually refine your drawing. Sketch out the general shape of the character and add in details. Keep adding in the details as you go, from larger ones like eyes and mouth to smaller ones like clothing wrinkles and facial expressions.
