How To Draw A Frog Face
Gathering the right art supplies is the first step to learning how to draw a frog face. Before diving head first into the process, make sure you have supplies like paper, pencil, eraser and colored pencils, markers or crayons. Once you have these essentials, you can set your creative juices in motion, and begin sketching the cutest frog face out there.
Step 1: Sketch an Oval
Start by sketching an oval to form the shape of your frog’s face. This will act as the base of the entire drawing and serve as the foundation for which you can later add details. Be sure the oval is neither too large nor small.
Step 2: Outline the Snout & Add Dots
Next, draw the outline of your frog’s snout at one end of the oval. Then, add two small circles to it. Connect them with two curved lines, one at the top and one at the bottom. This will create a cartoon-like snout for your frog. Lastly, add two small dots for eyes.
Step 3: Sketch the Head and Face
Now sketch the shape of the head, connecting the two dots and the two sides of the outline. This will give your frog’s face a more 3D look. Don’t forget to add two small bumps at the top to form the frog’s head. You can also use a ruler to make sure the sides of the head and outline align perfectly.
Step 4: Draw the Ears, Mouth and Feet
Draw a pair of ears on either side of the oval. To make them look more natural, sketch them slightly curved and thin. Then, give your frog’s mouth some shape by adding a small curved line. Lastly, add two small feet, one on either side of the oval.
Step 5: Add Color and Shading
The coloring part of the drawing will make it much livelier. Give your frog some color by using crayons, markers or colored pencils. Choose any colors that you like. To complete the look, add some shading to your frog’s face and body. This will give it more depth and realism.
Step 6: Cleanup and Finish
Finally, it’s time to give your frog some facial expressions. To do this, you can draw an open mouth or raised eyebrows. You can also add other facial features like a smirk or eyes looking in different directions. Once you’re happy with the overall look and feel of your frog, erase any unnecessary pencil lines and clean up the drawing.
Step 7: Refine and Perfect
Now that your frog is complete, it’s time to refine and perfect it. Look closely and see if there are any areas that need improvement.
