How To Draw A Police Car

Drawing a police car may seem daunting, but it doesn’t have to be a grueling experience. Have no fear, because with just a few steps you can master the art of sketching a law enforcement vehicle!
You can start by lightly drawing a rectangle for the body of the car. Then add two circles for the nostrils of the grille and make the line into a slightly curved line by connecting them. Include the details like the headlights, the hood and the roof.
For the doors, draw two thin rectangles with three slightly curved lines coming from the sides. Add a rectangle with a concave line on top for the windshield. Add the side mirrors by drawing two backwards “N” shapes as well as curved lines for the handles.
To create the wheels, draw two half circles at the bottom of the body and another two attached to it in the back. Connect these circles with a series of quick straight lines. In the middle of the wheel, draw a small diamond shape and extend a line to create the tire.
Next, create a striping pattern to give the car a bold look. You can draw several thin, curved lines above the grille and windshield. Draw several horizontal lines across the body of the car and a few thin lines under the windows. Connect the thin lines with a few thick ones to make the design bolder.
Add a logo or symbol of the police department that the car represents. This can be done by drawing a shield, a star, or the text of the department. Finally, add a few details like decals, license plates, and other small sections.
To bring the car to life, color the design with bits of black, white, and blue. Use dark lines to trace the details of the car and create a sharp contrast for the optimum effect. To emphasize the tires and hood, use a dark grey or black to give the image a popping look.
To add some shadow and texture, use a combination of grey and lighter blue. Start by lightly shading the bottom of the car, adding other subtle shades. You may also choose to add alternating thick and thin lines to bring out the grills to sharpen the look of the car.
The last step is to fix any unwanted lines, areas, or details and make sure the car is looking top notch. Once these changes are made, you’ll have a police car that will look like it’s ready for a high-speed chase!
To personalize the car, you can draw accessories like spotlights and antenna to the roof of the vehicle. You can also draw a small crowd of people, animals, other vehicles, or other elements to make the image more dynamic. If you want to create a classic style depiction, consider adding a smoking tire to give the car a more furious look.
It’s time to take the car out of the sketchbook and give it the full artistic treatment! Experiment with adding details like license plates, decals, and other small additions to the car. Color it with vivid and vibrant shades or go minimalistic and just draw the lines. The possibilities are endless! You can even draw the car on a background or place it in a larger context to give it more life.
Now that you know how to draw a police car, you can use these same steps to draw any kind of car from all eras with just a few small modifications. Keep practicing, and soon you’ll be able to draw any car, police car or not, with confidence and creative flair!
