How To Draw An Easy Witch

Introduction

Do you want to create a witch-inspired masterpiece? If so, then you’ve come to the right place! Drawing an easy witch often starts off with confusion and fear – but don’t worry – drawing can be a simple and fun activity to unleash your creativity. Drawing is a great way to express yourself and can also bring a sense of calm and well-being. So grab your pencil and paper and let’s get witchy.

Step 1: Start With the Face

Let’s start with the face – this is the foundation for a witch drawing. Start out by making an oval to sketch out the base of the face. This is where you’ll get the main facial features of your witch. Add two big circles for the eyes, draw a triangle nose, and a rounded rectangle for the mouth. To make your witch look extra spooky, add two curved lines extending out from the eyes, making them look like they have long, witchy eyelashes.

Step 2: Add the Hat

The hat is the signature of a witch! Above the face, draw an oval for the base of the hat then draw a tall point for the tip of the hat. To give your witch an extra boost of personality, draw some patterns on the sides of the hat using curved lines.

Step 3: Work on the Bodice

To create the bodice of our witch, draw an ‘S’ shape down from her neck. This creates the curved line for her bust then draw two arms extending out on either side. From the arms, add curved lines that meet under the body to give your witch a nice shapely bodice.

Step 4: Detailing and Finishing Touches

Add details to your witch! From her bodice, draw a long pointed cape with two slits near the bottom. Draw long fingers and toes with wavy lines to create a whimsical look. Lastly, draw four big circles, two on each side of your witch, to make her flying broom. Your witch is now finished – and looking spooky!

Painting Your Witch

Once your sketch is done, it’s time to turn your witch into a living masterpiece by painting. Choose your favorite colors – from classic black and green, to darker purples and blues – and start coloring in your witch. Start with the face, then move on to the clothes, the hat, and the broom. To make the witch look extra wicked and enchanting, use bright highlights and shadows to really capture the spooky vibes.

Shading and Highlights

Once you’ve painted your witch, it’s time to add shadows and highlights to create a 3-dimensional effect. With your pencil, start sketching out shadows in the eyes, nose, and face, then add subtle lines to the cape and the broom. Lastly, take a white paint marker and add some white highlights to make your witch look extra glittery and dazzling. And that’s it – you’ve created a beautiful witch to showcase your creative talents!
