How To Draw Minnions

Minions are incredibly popular and perceived as lovable, mischievous characters by many, yet few know just how easy it is to draw one! Well, all that can change today because I’m here to show you just how simple it is to create your very own Minion. Now, let’s get started with the basics.

Section 1: Supplies

To get started, you’ll need just a few things. The first is a piece of paper or sketchbook, it doesn’t matter how big or small, just make sure it can fit what you plan to draw. Also don’t forget to pick up a pencil, preferably with a good sharp point, as you’ll need this to outline and add detail to your Minion.

Section 2: The Face

Creating the face of your Minion is the most important part. This is where you will express your individuality and create a unique character. To begin, draw an oblong oval at the center of the paper. Next, add two large, circular eyes, a semi-circle for the mouth, and two small triangles for the eyebrows. This is the basis of your Minion’s expression.

Section 3: The Body

With the face finished, you can now sketch out the body. Start by drawing two ovals, one at the top and one at the bottom of your Minion’s face. Make sure you leave enough space for the arms and legs. Continue to fill in the body by drawing the hands and feet of your Minion, don’t forget to add the signature white overalls on the body.

Section 4: The Hair

Now it’s time to give your Minion personality with a hairstyle. Start by drawing two curved lines on top of the head. Make sure you leave room for the eyes. You can give your Minion wispy bangs, an afro, or whatever hairstyle you desire. Now is the time to bring your Minion to life with a unique look.

Section 5: Detailing & Colouring

Finally, it’s time to add finishing touches to your Minion. Start by adding details like goggles, overall details, shoe laces, and whatever else you like – the sky’s the limit! Finally, you can use a bit of colour to bring your Minion to full life by using a variety of markers, pencils, or even paints. Once you’re done, you now have your own unique Minion character.
