Are you ready to unlock your inner artist? Drawing on photos on your iPhone is easier than you think – and can be loads of fun! Whether you’re simply touching up family pictures, or making total works of art, here are some simple tips on how to draw on a photo using your iPhone’s built-in tools.
Choose a Pen or Brush Size
First, tap on the pencil icon on the bottom of your screen, which opens up a menu of brush options. From here, you can select a brush, pen or marker size, and adjust the brightness, width, and transparency depending on your needs. For creating subtle touches, use a narrow pen. For bolder strokes, try a large marker – the choice is totally up to you!
Pick a Color
Select a color for your brush or pen by tapping on the pipette icon. Now, simply choose any color from the palette to draw with by sliding your finger over the spectrum. For more saturated colors, you’ll want to place your finger lower down on the palette. You can also customize the color temperature and tone using the different sliders.
Start Drawing on Your Photo
When you’re ready to start your masterpiece, just tap and hold on the photo. Now, you can use your finger or a stylus to draw whatever your heart desires! For a more precise look, use a stylus to paint your masterpiece. To erase something, select the eraser icon and then trace the part of the drawing you wish to remove.
Introduce Additional Effects
To add more effects to your drawing, head to the layers tab. Here, you can add text, stickers, shapes, and more. To adjust the order of the layers, simply drag and drop them on the layers list. This way, you can ensure that your text and other elements stand out.
Save Your Creation
Once you’ve finished your drawing on the photo, you can post it to Instagram or use it as a profile picture. All you need to do is tap the share button, select the platform you’re posting to, and voila – you’ve created a masterpiece!
Take a Photo from a Different Perspective
Once you have your drawing just the way you want it, play around with the perspective. Want to get that top-down, bird’s eye view? No problem. Just tilt your phone back, create a few strokes at the angle you want, and voila – your masterpiece is now in a whole new perspective!
Complete Your Design with a Blend Mode
Once you’ve finished your drawing and added a few different touches, complete your masterpiece with a blend mode. Switch the blend modes to see what creates the best effect, and then use the brush icon to adjust the opacity. You can adjust the brush size, shape, and angle to create just the right effect.
Flaunt Your Newly Created Masterpiece
