How To Draw Patrick From Spongebob

Drawing Patrick from Spongebob

Are you a fan of Spongebob Squarepants? If so, why not take a stab at drawing the show’s lovable star, Patrick? Drawing the haphazard yet loyal starfish friend is simpler than you may think. With some practice and careful attention to detail, you’ll be seeing your own Patrick come to life in no time. All you need is some paper, a pencil, an eraser, and plenty of creativity!

Step 1: Draw Patrick’s outline

First, you’ll need to draw the main outline of Patrick. You can do this either by looking online and copying an image, or by sketching out your own version on paper. If it’s your first time drawing Patrick, the former option may be easier. To start the outline, draw Patrick’s head, body and legs. Make sure his legs are pointing down, so that he looks like he’s standing. Then, draw arms in proportion with his body. Patrick is six-sided, so draw those sides, erasing the parts that don’t blend with the others. Don’t forget draw the outline of his hands too!

Step 2: Draw and Add Color to Patrick’s Face and Skin

Now, it’s time to add color. Start by giving Patrick’s skin a light orange hue and draw his mouth, eyes and nose. Next, use black to draw his eyes and eyebrows. He has a very expressive face, so draw the eyebrows in the shape of a perfect “S”. Then, use a light brown to draw his teeth and a brown for the eyes. To complete his face, color in the pupils with a light gray, and draw his pupils looking slightly up and to the side. Finally, use pink to draw Patrick’s cheeks and draw some white around his eyes to make them look sparkly!

Step 3: Finish His Outfit

Treat Patrick to a nice outfit! Draw a big red bowtie around his neck, with the ties pointing down. Then, color in his shirt or make it red or purple with squiggly lines. Color his pants green or blue, and make sure to draw the outline of his shoes. Also make sure to draw in Patrick’s iconic starfish shape on the top of his head, and color it in green or purple. Finally, give him a hat! His hat is an iconic symbol of the show, so make sure to get this part right.

Step 4: Finalize and Shade Patrick’s Drawing

Once you have all the details completed, it’s time to finish the drawing. If you have an eraser, use it to clean up any parts that are too dark or need more details. Then, use shades of orange, pink and brown to make the drawing look more real. Finally, use the eraser again to create shadows and highlights on Patrick’s face and body. This will add dimension, making your Patrick look even more alive!
