How To Draw Sanic

Everyone likes the spunky, invincibility-havin’, blue-furred hedgehog called Sanic, and everybody wants to know how to draw him. Drawing Sanic isn’t hard. In fact, it’s as effortless as saying his iconic phrase: gottat go fast! First, who better to start with than Sanic himself? Grab a pen, a piece of paper and let’s get to it!

Our first step is to draw his massive, definite claws. This is how Sanic expresses himself and primarily works as his signature look. Just always remember: the longer and sharper they are, the better. Next comes his spiky blue quills. Drawing them is a lot easier than it looks. All you need to do is lightly draw wavy lines, then draw small spiky circles at the end of each one. The quills should look like it’s part of a circle, so make sure they look like it’s flowing well.

Sanic’s face is the next thing to draw. He’s got an unmistakable look and his adorable little face is half of what makes him so well-loved. His eyes and mouth should be directly in the center of the face, just like in the original image of him. And let’s not forget Sanic’s adorable side-swept bangs; drawing them is as easy as pie. Just draw two little arcs on either side of the forehead and voila! Sanic’s up-do is done.

Sanic’s body is the last step of drawing him. Easy as can be, just draw two circles connected by a line for his torso and legs – just like a hot dog. Add a couple of curved lines in-between the legs and feet as one big oval shape. Then, finish it up with Sanic’s shoes and make sure they’re as big as possible. Sanic’s look isn’t complete without them.

Now that Sanic is finished, it’s time to move onto the colorful details. Start by adding some reds, oranges and yellows for Sanic’s gloves and shoes. This is a fun part so if you want to, you can add some extra colors like blues and greens for the boots. The possibilities for Sanic’s colors really are endless. Now, finish it up with adding a couple of stars and stripes, just like in the original image – and Sanic is now complete!

Coloring Sanic isn’t hard either. The trick to a great color scheme is to use darker shades of each color so they can create contrast. Start with blue as the main color and use it on Sanic’s face, quills and torso. Then, add lighter shades of the same color on Sanic’s feet and gloves. To finish it up, use a light yellow or lavender for his eyes and lines for the buckle of his shoes. And with that wonderful sparkle Sanic has, you’re all ready to color him up.

Adding in extra details makes Sanic look even more like himself. That’s why I suggest adding some stars and stripes on his shoes and if you’re feeling particularly creative, draw the famous Sanic symbol. These details will definitely give Sanic that extra edge and make him look even more lovable.

Learning how to draw Sanic doesn’t have to be daunting. All you have to do is start with the basics and let your creativity take care of the rest. Using simple lines and shapes, you can have your own Sanic to show off in no time. So grab your supplies, pick up your pencil and start working on your very own Sanic masterpiece!

Shading Sanic can really make him look impressive. Start by using the same colors you use for the base drawing. Using a darker and lighter tone of the same color, apply them to the shadowed areas. This adds some texture and contrast that really makes him pop. Add a few more details to him. These could be as small as his signature red lines or as big as adding a few stars around him. With just these couple of steps, you can now create your own three-dimensional Sanic!

Sanic isn’t complete without motion. His speed and agility make him one of the most iconic characters ever. To capture this, using some red lines and wavy shapes, draw the path of where Sanic will go. This makes it look like he’s actually moving and brings Sanic to life in a whole new way.

Adding accessories to Sanic is the final step. Accessorizing him can be a great way to show off your personality. You can add a cool pair of sunglasses, a tiny Sanic hat, or even a rocket backpack. Other accessories you can put on him could be a baseball cap, a skateboard, or even an entire mech suit – there are no limits to how creative you can get!

Once you’re done, you’ve successfully drawn your own Sanic. No matter how hard it may seem to draw such a well-beloved character, all you need to do is start with the basics and let your creativity take the reins. Drawing Sanic doesn’t have to be a big challenge and with the right colors and accessories, you can make him look just like the real thing!
