How To Draw Strawberries

Ahhh, strawberries! Delicious, juicy and sweet, they are one of my favorite fruits. Drawing strawberries can be a challenge though, as they can be very tricky. Don’t worry, I’m here to walk you through it and before you know it, you’ll be drawing beautiful, vibrant strawberries in no time!

The first step in drawing strawberries is getting your supplies together. You can draw them with whatever utensils you want, but I recommend pencils, erasers and a few colored pencils. You’ll also want some paper, a ruler and an art board if possible.

Once you have all of your supplies, you can start sketching the main parts of the strawberry. Start with a triangle shape for the top part and then draw a circular shape for the bottom part. For a more realistic strawberry, you can add in a few ridges for the strawberry’s skin.

Next, draw the seeds. You can use the tip of your pencil to create the small dots and then darken the seeds slightly. If you want to add a little bit of color, you can lightly color the seeds with a brown colored pencil.

Once you’ve finished sketching, use a fine tip eraser to remove any pencil lines that are not part of the final image. Then you can start coloring and shading. Start by coloring in the top of the strawberry, making sure to leave the seeds white.

Next, you can move on to the bottom of the strawberry. Use a red colored pencil, and shade in the bottom of the strawberry with varied strokes, blending the strokes for a more natural look. For a more realistic look, add a bit of yellow and green in the shadows.

For an even more vivid look, use a pink colored pencil to fill in the rest of the strawberry. Blend the strokes using the side of the pencil. This will give it a more realistic texture and color.

To finish off your strawberry drawing, you can add some light shading. Use a light colored pencil or a light grey marker and add some shadow and highlight to give your strawberry a 3D effect.

Once you’ve finished shading, you’re done! You can step back, admire your work and enjoy your stunning strawberry drawing!

Drawing strawberries can be tricky, but if you take your time and follow these steps you’ll soon be an expert strawberry drawer!

To get the best results, make sure you have the right supplies. Also, practice drawing smaller versions of the strawberry first; this will help you familiarize yourself with the shape and proportions of the strawberry before you start shading.

Once you feel comfortable with the size and proportions of the strawberry, you can begin adding in details. Adding depth and 3D effects to your drawing is key for adding realism. And lastly, practice, practice, practice can help you become a master strawberry drawer!

Getting creative is the best part of creating art. Experiment with the different tools you have, try out different materials, and always strive to create something unique! As the famous quote goes, “Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep.”

Now that you know the basics of drawing strawberries, it’s time to grab your supplies and get drawing. Have fun and don’t forget to share your finished drawings with us!
