How To Draw A Bear For Kids

Drawing a bear doesn’t have to be a daunting task! Kids can have a lot of fun creating their own version of a bear, and practice their own creative touch. All you need is a sheet of paper, some coloring pencils, and a bright imagination. Here’s how to draw a bear for kids:

Step 1: Make a big circle

Start by drawing a big circle. This will be the basis of your bear’s head. It should be big enough to draw two small circles inside it – one for each eye. Kids can experiment with how wide the mouth holes is, or how pointed the ears will look.

Step 2: Add details to the face

Now it’s time to draw the details. First, add two triangular shapes for the ears and give them a nice pointy shape. Then add the two small circles for the eyes and color them in. After that, draw the nose and mouth. Kids can go wild with the details here and make their bears have funny smiles or expressive eyes.

Step 3: Draw the body

Draw an oval shape that connects to the head. This will be the body of the bear. Then add two smaller oval shapes to the sides of the body. These will be the arms. After that, draw two elongated circles and connect them to the bottom of the body. These will be the legs.

Step 4: Draw the details

Add the final touches to make your bear look realistic. First draw the feet, add some circular shapes for the toes. Then give your bear some fur. Use lots of squiggly lines or draw two round circles on top of each other. Kids can also draw a tail and give it some texture. Finally, draw two tiny hands with two fingers each.

Step 5: Color it in

Now that your bear is drawn, it’s time to color it. Kids can choose whatever colors they like for their bear. Have fun with it and make your bear as bright and colorful as possible.

Step 6: Give your bear some personality

Give your bear some personality by adding a few more details. For example, you can draw some flowers or leaves around the bear. Or, you can add a crown or a hat to your bear to make him look like a king or a cowboy.

Step 7: Show your work off!

Share your amazing bear drawing with friends and family! Make sure to frame it if you want to avoid it getting damaged. With lots of practice, kids will become masters at drawing their own unique bear.
