How to Draw Groot
Drawing Groot is a fun and rewarding experience. With the right supplies, a bit of practice and a splash of creativity, you can create your own version of this adorable tree-like creature! Whether you want to draw Groot as a comic book character or create your own custom version, this guide will show you how to get started.
Gather Your Supplies
If you’re ready to get drawing, the first order of business is to gather the supplies you’ll need. You can really let your imagination run wild here – the basics you’ll need are plain paper, graphite pencils, an eraser, and a sharpener. If you want to add a pop of color, you may also want to use color pencils or markers. Make sure you have plenty of paper – you never want to run out in the middle of a drawing session if you can help it.
Start with a Sketch
Before you jump into drawing your final piece, it’s a good idea to sketch out the outline of your work. Start with a light pencil and draw a basic outline of Groot – you may want to start by sketching out the arms and legs, then add the contours of the head. Keep in mind that Groot’s body is mostly round, although you can make him as “tree-like” as you want! Once you’re happy with the overall shape you’ve created, you can draw in the details.
Add the Details
Now that the general shape of Groot is already sketched out, it’s time to get creative and add the details. Decide whether you want Groot to have eyes, a face, and even branches! For a classic comic book look, draw his eyes with a few circles, and use colored pencils (or markers) to give them a pop of color. Add in any details that make Groot look like Groot to you. You may also want to darken the lines of the basic shape to make it a bit more defined.
Bring it to Life!
Once you’re happy with the shape and details of your Groot drawing, bring it to life with shading and highlights. Use a shade of grey to give your Groot depth and dimension. For a natural look, you can start with a light shade and slowly add layers of darker shades until you’re happy with the final look. If you’re feeling adventurous, try experimenting with some highlighting by adding white pencil or markers to create texture and contrast – Groot will pop off the page in no time!
Show Groot to the World
You’re almost done – all that’s left is to show off your hard work! Take a photo of your Groot and post it on social media to share your masterpiece with the world. This is a great way to show off your skills, get feedback and motivate yourself to keep drawing – you never know where it will take you. So what are you waiting for? Get drawing and show the world your Groot!
