How To Draw The Demogorgon

How to Draw The Demogorgon

There once was a beast so fearsome, drawing its image might bring you to your knees in utter terror — the Demogorgon. This hulking creature is part of the “stranger things” universe, and with its iconic face, tentacles, and blade-like teeth, it has become an icon of modern pop culture. If you want to capture the menacing beauty of this creature, then let me tell you — it’s easier than you think!! Using your pencil and paper, it’s possible to create a gorgeous image of The Demogorgon.

Let’s begin by sketching out the body shape. Start with a big, upside down ’U’ for the head, then draw some diagonal lines for the body. Make sure to keep your lines light and flowy, because you’ll want to erase them later for a more polished look. Next, draw a big jawline for the lower half of the head, then add the two tentacles. Remember to draw them at a slight angle, so that they look like the thing is reaching out to you! Finally, draw six lines in a semi-circle beneath the jawline, these will be the creature’s blade-like teeth.

Now we’ll add some details. Start with the eyes – draw to circles, one slightly bigger than the other, and fill them in with black. Then draw two curved lines beneath the eyes, followed by the nose. Now, draw curved lines above the eyes, and add the ear-like horns on either side. Finally, draw a jagged line down the center of the body, this will be the creature’s spine.

We’re almost finished! Now for the shading. Start by lightly shading the eyes, then add some shadows to the tentacles and teeth. For the face, shade the lower half of the jawline and the two horns. Then, lightly shade the center part of the body, from the nose to the tail. Finally, add some shadows to the edges and highlights to the top of the head. Voila! You’ve drawn The Demogorgon!

SECTION II: Add Color

Now that your sketch is finished, it’s time to add some color. Start by lightly sketching out the outlines of the body and tentacles with a colored pencil. Then, add some reddish-brown to the center of the body, blending outward. Following that, add some dark brown to the edges and define the shape of the tentacles and teeth. For the face, add some yellow and orange highlights to the nose and eyes, then shade the horns and jawline with dark brown. Finally, add some white highlights to the eyes and tentacles. Now your Demogorgon is looking magnificent!

SECTION III: Refine the Shading

Now that your basic colors are laid out, it’s time to refine the shading. Start with the face – add a few more highlights to the nose and eyes, then make the horns a bit darker. Add some thin, curved lines beneath the jawline for a wavy texture. After that, add some lowlights to the tentacles and highlights to the edges of the body. Finally, go over the teeth with a sharp pencil to sharpen their shape – this will make them more menacing!

SECTION IV: Add Final Touches

The final step is to add some finishing touches. Start by using white paint to add highlights to the eyes, teeth, and tentacles. Then, use a small brush to add spots of pink and orange to the cheeks and nose for a cute, optical-illusion like effect. After that, use yellow paint to add highlights to the horns and jawline. Finally, use a black paint pen to draw a few thin, jagged lines around the body to add texture. And there you have it – your amazing Demogorgon drawing is complete!
